A Dream of Return

Almost Live episode #178

Join Egyptian-Canadian artist, curator and researcher Pansee Atta for a tour of A Dream of Return, an exhibition of contemporary Canadian artists who highlight diverse creative responses to the theme of “return.” The artists reveal poetic links between dispossessed peoples and material cultures, visualizing histories and futures of liberatory return. This conceptualization of “return” interlinks and complicates artistic self-expressions of Indigeneity, diaspora, belonging, community and identity.

Artists include: Adeyemi Adegbesan, Nic Cooper, Theo Jean Cuthand, Rana Nazzal Hamadeh and Farouk Kaspaules.

Host Amy Amantea will joined by Carleton University Art Gallery educator Fiona Wright and artist Pansee Atta, who will present descriptive highlights from this exhibition.

Presented with the kind permission of Carleton University Art Gallery (CUAG)
