Married couple Annie and Josephine have been trying to start a family for the past five years. As their patience and pennies start to dry up, they begin to second-guess their choices, until another chance at a baby literally bursts through the front door. Unexpecting is a comedic exploration of marriage, friendship, and modern motherhood, written by Bronwyn Carradine.
Unexpecting is part of Listen to This, an audio play series from the Arts Club that features entertaining, thought-provoking works created by Western Canadian playwrights who are affiliated with the company’s Emerging Playwrights’ Unit or Silver Commissions Project. VocalEye will feature the remaining shows in the series as they become available.
The VocalEye virtual lobby opens at 6:30 pm Pacific Time for some socializing and community updates with host Amy Amantea. The pre-show introduction will begin at 6:45 pm with our special guest, playwright Bronwyn Carradine. The show begins at 7 pm with a running time of approximately 90 minutes, including conversation, Q and A and a prize draw.
